I have my idling set low and I drive a 1999. It never affected anytning on the engine. Since the engine barely turns, it doesn’t need a ton of oil up there, just enough to lubricat it. I owned the bike for 10 years now…. what can I saw, it ain’t broken yet !
Erizo1602, Don’t act like a smart ass. The oil pump isn’t going to spoil. what’s wrong with you ? have you been reading the wrong books all these while ? get your fact right ok.
god´s teeth, some folks here need to learn how to read.i have NEVER said it would damage the oil pump (ferchrissakes try reading the posts).i HAVE however said that BELOW the recomended idle speed, the oil pump is NOT supplying enough pressure to the lubrication system, meaning that if left idling for long periods like that, it can cause engine damage.FFS, i try to give a bloke a heads up, and get a barrage of numbnuts spouting shit they know nothing about.BTW, my facts are right
Hey CZ, never get tired looking at your ride!Would you be interested in selling your Bubs, after you get your one offs, if not, would you know someone that can make me a custom set?thxnn
Yes. They are BUB stubbies I found on ebay for cheap cuz they were yellowed and dented…but the tips were perfect and made for great pipes to wrap-up. next pipes will be one-offs…
Chopped the seat horn and mounted the solo seat. Springer is a bolt-on kit from Ardcorechoppers. The wheels are HD 60 spokes with custom axle in the back. Brake bracket is my own design. It is really a simple bike…turns heads.
i didn´t say anything about the oil pump getting spoilt.if you read my reply to that dipstick 1947chief, you´ll see that i was referring to possible oil starvation due to the oil pump not being up to pressure below 800rpm. leaving a bike ticking over for long periods under those circumstances isn´t good.get your facts right o.k?chopzombie – respect to you and your ride, i´m just replying to these two posters.
Thanks for the Compliment. I have heard other roadstars that sound good but I always thought they idled way high. Can you give us a link to a well idled Roadstar video? I would like to hear the comparison..

That is by far the sickest star I have ever seen. The haters can stay at home and watch the bike shows on tv. You Sir, keep building.
