I just finished a rebuild on the XS 650 with new pistons, rings, port work, paint and polish. It fired right up and sounds perfect. Next it goes in a frame and gets the proper break in.
This is the next xs 650 motor to get the rebuild treatment. I took my test stand and prepped it for the teardown, wash, paint and build stages. Once together I will install the electrical system and run the motor for break in and tuning.
I just picked this up. It is in pretty bad shape but it does run… and needs lots. Tranny, carbs, electrical, fuel tank and what ever else you can name. If it wasn't an XS650 i would have passed but they seem to attract me and the agony of re-cycle builds.
