Do you know if either bikes are easy to find for cheap cause ive been looking and either I can’t find any (Craigslist) or they want to much? really I just want one that a least has a good motor.
Thanks! It’s really easy, paint the tank flat black, then layer grey primer, red primer. Wet sand through the layers till you get the desired look. Final coat with satin clear.
you dont turn a bike into a rat, that defeats the purpose. a rat bike, is a bike that kept going at minimal costs (by using different parts from different bikes and what not)
You look like a yuppie with your T shirt tucked in… yet you ride this gritty bike. That thing probably has more character then you do. Ha ha. Just jokes. Nice bike man. Love those true choppers. Not like those factory customs the rich guys ride. Thank god for money or those pampered jerks would never look as cool as you riding down the street doing 80 with that damn T tucked in.
I agree… 2 things can fix that 1) put on some clubman or flat bars and 2) push the rearsets as far back and high as possible. The rat bikes are made to LOOK freakish so performance should be completely ignored if one is to build a devoted rat bike
Alot of these kind of chops look good sitting there, but look really uncomfortable, dorky, or weak in motion. This one is no exception. Maybe it’s just me, but when I see a bike that looks like it should shred get moving for its big expose on the internet, I wanna see that back tire light up and I wanna hear a motor that sounds mean and not starved for fuel. But that’s just me.

Cool bike, like the way you painted the tank! I’m working on my ‘79 GS850 at the moment, and wondered how you created the effect on the tank?
