Suzuki Bobbers
This is my ’82 gs450 bobber, finished relatively quickly too. the whole thing cost under 500 bucks and its fun as hell to ride. yeah its a little shorter than normal bobbers (due to not stretching the rear end) but it was long enough before the chop and im only 5′ 10″ so it fits me fine. enjoy!

@usmarinedelta Removing the rear fender isn’t safe so i cant really recommend it. Your gonna get road debris on your back as a result though depending on the road surface, but since i dont have a front it can’t really get much worse.

Without the fender did you notice any splashing of road debris, dirt, or water on yourself? Interested in removing mine.

@usmarinedelta just spread the fender a bit and welded it straight to the frame. nothing fancy actually. it doesnt have a read fender anymore actually.

How did you fab up the front fender for the rear, details please.
February 28th, 2011 at 6:15 pm
@dittohead791 no heat reflectors/shields?
February 28th, 2011 at 6:32 pm
What did you do to get rid of the rear springs and make it a solid frame?
February 28th, 2011 at 6:32 pm
@Toumba mine stays outside all summer/fall/spring and ive never had a problem with heat. With the liquid and the metal being thin its never been an issue or been very hot to the touch either.
February 28th, 2011 at 7:30 pm
@dittohead791 I meant while its parked. I wanted to paint my tank flat black too, but a shop owner told me that it may be a bad idea when the bike sits out in the sun

@krunkkracker yeah, the rear fender is a front fender, but it has no fenders now actually. was done with metal stock purchased from metalsupermarket. kept the cost down. no prefabed stuff used except for a seat and bars.

@Toumba naw, with the wind riding, it never gets hot enough to be an issue. all my bikes are flat black.

nice job,looks good
February 28th, 2011 at 9:50 pm
sweet bob. do you have any issues with the gas tank overheating? i hear that flat black just absorbs heat like a sponge and the last thing that i want to overheat is the fuel tank
February 28th, 2011 at 10:07 pm
How did you manage to hardtail it with the total cost being $500?
Did you use the front fender for the rear fender as well?
February 28th, 2011 at 10:32 pm
@scamperscamper1 the bike is the chicagoland suburbs. it was all done with a mig welder, so the welds arent super clean but i like the rough look anyways. there really are no guides, just doing alot of research and measuring twice and cutting once. check the last video i have up of it. It now has a suicide shifter and the front brake was eliminated. The carbs have also been rejetted to match it having no air box. But, yes, i am selling it.

Where are you? I will buy this. How did you do this? I cant find any guides.

@dittohead791 Good point.. I wasn’t paying attention I was thinking of the 550s being inline fours and just thought that was 2. Didnt pay much mind looking at the exhaust or engine closely.
