Hey, I’ve been checking out the progress of your bobber on some of the Rebel forums. Did you have to rejet the carb when you replaced the exhaust? thanks man.

G’day Rone, I work with Leah (lucky me??). She was telling me how cool the bobber was and said you’d done some youtube stuff on it so I had a look. It’s an amazing transformation, huge improvement over the original. It’s got me thinking about what I can do with my old XR600 hehe (obviously can’t make a bobber out of it!!). What are the plans for the CX? Keeping it as a cafe racer?

Hey Tim….sorry that you work with Leah (hahahaha), nah she’s a great chick really.Yeah, keeping the CX as a Cafe, got a few more things to do to it like, making a custom Speedo and Tacho housing to place an original set from my spare CX I bought (it’s an ’80 model). Going to get some chrome/metal buckets spun/fabricated because it still has this small aftermarket speedo at the moment. Maybe make some custom side covers, not too sure yet. Was thinking about building another Cafe of the ’80

looks good, thanks for doing the video it helps alot for everyone else thinking of doing a little bobbing. i’m about to start on my 85 soon… on that pod filter, did you have to up your jets? want to gut that area of the bike too.

Thanks man, much appreciated. Yeah, for some reason I thought it would be fun to document the build and share it. After all, I got a few tips from other builds myself. As for the carby’s, I haven’t adjusted the jets as yet but I dare say they will maybe need modifying. It’s probably running to lean now. I’m also thinking of moving the battery to just underneath the Pod Filter area too.ROne
